Can I enter the Orangerie with a backpack ?
What gets through security
Everyone goes through a security check upon entry. Then, the free cloakroom accepts coats and small bags. It requires the deposit of large backpacks, motorcycle helmets, large umbrellas, and cabin luggage. A travel bag larger than cabin luggage will not be accepted, and you won't be able to enter with it. If you're coming from the train station, drop off your luggage beforehand.
For guided tours
Small group guided tours prohibit baggage and large bags, which makes sense since the group goes through the Tuileries Garden before entering. Come light. The conditions are on the guided tour page.
What the cloakroom also lends
Against an ID, the cloakroom lends wheelchairs, folding seats, and canes. Folding seats are useful on level -2, where benches are rare. The details are on the accessibility page. What to wear, or not, is on the what to wear page.
The building is air-conditioned and the oval rooms are cool. Keep a light layer with you rather than leaving everything at the cloakroom, you won't return there until you leave.
